AT PEACE WITH CONFLICT

Themes: Learning how to handle conflict with co-workers, customers, and suppliers constructively; encouraging discussion of suppressed issues; using conflict as a positive force.

Outcomes: You will learn how to: clarify purpose so as to resolve conflict successfully; encourage the interest and commitment that underlie interpersonal conflict; separate the person from the problem; and move towards interest-based discussion and dialogue, and away from entrenched "positional" confrontation.

PRINCIPLED NEGOTIATION

Themes: Everyone can win through principled negotiation, a method by which the true interests of all parties are considered as the starting point for negotiation.

Outcomes: You will study and practice the skills of negotiation -- through simulation exercises using camera and VCR -- and prove to yourself that everyone is further ahead when negotiating in a principled fashion.

CREATING CONSENSUS OUT OF CHAOS

Themes: Despite all of the 'evidence' to the contrary, groups or individuals in conflict have much more in common than they realize; and it is possible to find consensus among multiple groups or individuals whose interests appear to diverge significantly.

Outcomes: You will gain understanding of a powerful model that allows individuals/groups to work together effectively. Participants learn to facilitate problem-solving and decision-making to achieve win-win solutions.
