Here are the Outlines:
THE TRANSFORMING LEADER
Themes:
- Personal change precedes organizational change.
- Everyone possesses leadership capacity.
- Eventually, given adequate support, we must all lead.
Outcomes: You will learn: how to make leadership more satisfying and less time consuming;
how to make the psychology of relationships work for you; how to use conflict to achieve
organizational goals; and much more!
LEADING FOR A CHANGE
Themes: The challenge of introducing change to the organization so as to win commitment
from others.
Outcomes: You will gain clear guidelines about how to plan and implement change
successfully and how to handle resistance.
RESISTING CHANGE
Themes: Sometimes it makes sense to resist change, sometimes not. This workshop
examines why we often resist changes that are both healthy and useful, to ourselves and
others. And why others resist our changes when we know that everyone would benefit.
Outcomes: You will learn through simulation and lecture how to conduct a change plan
successfully by engaging others; and how to address issues openly so as to remove the
impulse to resist otherwise beneficial changes.
SITUATIONAL LEADERSHIP
Themes: As a manager you must be capable of leading in highly variable situations,
dealing with employees who possess very different levels of skill, training and knowledge.
Outcomes: Through instruction, and a number of individual tests, you will increase your
confidence in dealing with the ever-changing workplace. You will learn how to deal with
different levels of employee maturity and ability.
BUT HOW CAN I MOTIVATE THEM?
Themes: As a leader or manager you can learn to generate greater productivity from
others, and from yourself. It starts with knowing yourself, and others, more deeply.
Outcomes: You will gain a clearer understanding of motivation, and how to use it to
everyone's benefit.
ONE-ON-ONE
Themes: Leaders and managers must counsel, assess and direct staff in an effective
manner. They must also, at times, give support and respect to employees whose motives
they may not understand, and who may be openly hostile to management.
Outcomes: You will understand and practice the critical skills needed to conduct more
effective interviews and meetings.
BRUSH FIRE MANAGEMENT
Themes: The subject of crisis management has been confused by foggy thinking and a lack
of clear definition.
Outcomes: You will learn a simpler and more effective approach to handling a crisis, and
establish a personal program for greater mastery of crisis situations.
MORE POWER TO YOU!
Themes: Some forms of power enhance your influence as a leader. Others undermine.
Outcomes: You will learn about different types of power, with their advantages and
disadvantages. You will develop a personal program of 'power polishing'.
LEADING THE TEAM
Themes: Leadership is a basic requirement for team building. How does one develop this
elusive quality?
Outcomes: You will identify the requirements for leadership, and recognize your own
leadership capability. You will develop a personal program to enhance your team
leadership.
